"Initiation" in the final of International Film Competition
“Initiation” film produced by Polish Dance Theater, directed by Iwona Pasińska, music by Jacek Sienkiewicz, set design by Andrzej Grabowski, performed by the artists of the Polish Dance Theatre is in the finale of the international short film competition organized by DADC - the 8th edition of DesArts // DesCinés Festival in Saint-Etienne in France.
This year's competition is called "Mutations” from intimacy to globalization. The jury consists of active artists representing the fields of film and dance: Helena Jonsdottir, author of films and programmer Physical Cinema Festival Reykjavik, Chrysanthi Badeka, choreographer, video artist, co-director of Athens Video dance Project, Virginie Combet, filmmaker and director of Cinécorps Festival (Paris / Strasbourg) and Davide Finelli, choreographer and performer. On May 18th they will announce three winners of the Grand Prix, Jury's Special Prize and Audience Awards.

After the announcement of the Jury's verdict on the DesArts // DesCinés Festival website, the awarded films and productions sent by the festival guests in non-competitive mode will be screened.
DesArts // DesCinés Festival is a cultural event combining areas of film and dance. It includes performances, screenings, discussions, workshops and participatory projects, open to children and adults as well as people with disabilities. This year's edition focuses on the issues of personal transformation and global migration.
The International Short Film Festival DADC is organized as part of DesArts // DesCinés Festival from 2015.
"Initiation" is the only Polish film that was included this year in the official DADC selection.
