Andrzej Adamczak did almost unrealizable work – has translated Czechov’s “Three sisters” for dance language. From the battle he left with target!
"Three sisters - imagination” première presented on Saturday by Polish Dance Theatre, was full of tension and emotions. The most important is that it is told not only by dancing but also by small gestures.
Adamczak obliges spectator to a very detail watching of every dancer’s move. It pulls them into the game of semblances, in which the contextual hand gesture, hand composition means more than is possible to tell only by dancing.
Similarly is with props. The same cigarette, same cigar smoked by characters will mean apathy and discouragement, in other case will appear as the symbol of domination and liberation.
Adamczak’s “Three sisters” is just as in Czechov, tale about waiting, wishing to leave the place where you are in the life separation. Where you last in suspension, in waiting for someone with whom will be possible to leave finally.
Lonely  women who seem to be passive reconciled to fate. When men appear – they revive, change their movements and gestures.
Adamczak got much more. He took from Czechov all emotions, created work in which without any problem we recognize our behaviors, life complications, our own apathy or movement.
Andrzej Adamczak’s performance joys us twice as much. Firstly because new choreographers’ generation is growing, who are able to pitted against to the most difficult scenic activities.
Secondly – after an artistic mix presented during a Polish Dance Platform – it is possible to relief and not to fall into consternation. Because it turns out that it is not so bad with the Polish contemporary dance. It seemed just like after watching most of the PDT performances. It was just a wrong program choice. I am glad, that this time I did a proper choice going on Polish Dance Theatre première, instead of suffering on the Platform.
