For eight years, Jacek Przybyłowicz was a soloist of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. Living on the verge of two cultures: Jewish and Arab made him interested in literary and music tradition of the region. The title “The dove’s necklace” refers to a poem by Ibn Hazm. Musical background of the performance is made of songs by Om Kolthom, a legendary Egyptian singer. Despite such explicit references, “The dove’s necklace” does not reflect a topos?; using classical elements, Jacek Przybyłowicz creates a thoroughly contemporary performance, the characters of which are very close to us.
