“... and I’m dancing” is a multi-plot performance, which could be additionally labelled as “a: digressive choreo-poem.
We consciously risk auto-thematism here, which can be both purifying and disenchanting. A magical word, a key-word in the life of a dancer is “audition” – examination of skills, talent, luck, fate and destiny. Examination that has no end in this profession. That is why the only guide in our performance is dance, it is the dance that crystallises plots and characters, initiates into the world in which “many are summoned but few are chosen”.
Love does not exist apart from a human being and dance does not exist apart from the body that creates it and apart from the mind in which it takes its beginning.
We give a part of ourselves in this performance. It is our gift, an anniversary gift for Conrad Drzewiecki, the creator of the Polish Dance Theatre, and for all the artists, who connected their lives with the Theatre, for our friends, the faithful audience, artistic partners and for ourselves. I thank all the dancers for their courage to give a piece of their souls.
